Vetiver Oil has a beautiful smokey and earthy aroma with woody and herbaceous undertones. Vetiver has a profoundly grounding effect & is extensively used in perfumery. 

Also known as vetivert, khus, or khus khus, Vetiver has a long history of use and is very well known as the Oil of Tranquility.1

Aroma: Initial clean, clear earthy aroma becomes deeper as it dries with very light smoky notes; has an outstanding intensity and complexity of aroma with a very lush drydown. 

Blends With:

Amyris, Bergamot, Black Pepper, Cardamom, Clary Sage, Cajeput, Cedarwood, Chamomile, Cinnamon, Clove, Coriander, Eucalypts, Frankincense, Geranium, Ginger, Grapefruit, Jasmine, Kunzea, Lavender, Lemon, Lemongrass, Lime, Mandarin, Neroli, Opopanax, Orange, Orris, Patchouli, Peppermint, Petitgrain, Pine, Rose, Rosemary, Sandalwood, Ylang Ylang & Yuzu.

"Vetiver oil is used extensively in perfumery not only as a fixative, but also as an odor contributor in bases such as fougère, chypre, modern woody-aldehydic or ambre[sic]-aldehydic bases, Oriental bases, moss and wood notes, opopanax bases, rose bases, etc.”1

Benefits:

Vetiver has been used in skin care for its anti-blemish properties though it is also a very good anti-depressant. It is a calming oil and can soothe anxiety, & the scent is long lasting.

Recommended Use:

In skin care as an antiseptic & astringent in oily, combination skin types; in aromatherapy blends as an aphrodisiac, anti-depressant, to help with sleep, to balance & ground, & connect to the earth; in wound healing salves to help heal & regenerate skin; in body oils or massage liniments to reduce pain in sore muscles & joints like arthritis; perfumery.

Care Instructions:

Not recommended for ingestion. Non-toxic, non-irritant in dilution. Vetiver will improve with age. Store in dark, cool area.

Easy Recipe

Grounding Roll-On Perfume Oil

Equipment:

10ml Roll-On Perfume bottle sterilised

Ingredients:

10ml Jojoba Oil

2 drops Vetiver Essential Oil

2 drops Sweet Orange Essential Oil

1 drop Ginger Essential Oil

2 drops Frankincense Essential Oil

Method:

Blend all the essential oils into the perfume bottle. add about 5ml of the Jojoba Oil and gently blend by inverting bottle gently. add the remaining Jojoba Oil in and again blend. Store in cool, dark place.

Use: Roll on pulse points of temples, side & back of neck, heart chakra & inner wrists.
