Lavender is a popular, versatile oil used in perfumery and blends. With a delicate floral scent & herbaceous undertone, the Australian Lavender has a more fresh herbal aroma than the sweet Lavenders produced in Bulgaria.

Aroma: Intense sweet-herbaceous/floral aroma; greener and less sweet and with a deeper aroma than other Lavenders.

Blends with:

Bergamot, Cardamom, Cedarwood, Chamomile, Cistus, Citronella, Clary Sage, Clove, Coriander, Cypress, Fir, Frankincense, Galbanum, Geranium, Helichrysum, Jasmine, Juniper, Labdanum, Lemon, Lime, Mandarin, Marjoram, Neroli, Nutmeg, Oakmoss, Orange, Patchouli, Pine, Rose, Rosemary, Sandalwood, Vetiver & Ylang Ylang.

Recommended use:

Soothes & heals the skin in moisturisers, mists, eye creams ; in air fresheners to deodorise; In sleep blends for candles, diffuser & baths; In salves & massage oils to help with muscle & nerve pain as well as headaches & menstrual cramps.

Easy Recipe:

Basic First-Aid Salve

An all purpose salve for kitchen burns, sunburns, bites & cuts.

Equipment:

250ml jar or storage jar

Small baking dish

Scales

Strainer or Muslin Cloth

Oven, cooktop.

Ingredient:

40 drops Lavender Essential Oil

14g Calendula Flower

7g Lavender Flower

7g Comfrey Leaf

235ml Olive Oil

28g Beeswax

Method:

Preheat oven to 80degrees Celsius.

Place herbs in a shallow baking dish & pour olive oil over them.

Stir in & bake for 4 hours. Strain. Pour into a saucepan & turn on low.

Add beeswax & stir in till melted.

Let cool for a couple of minutes & add essential oil.

Pour into a lidded storage container.

Let cool completely before closing the container.
