Geranium is an aromatic member of the Geraniaceae family, grown for the fragrant essential oil held primarily within its leaves and tender flowering stems.
Although commonly called Geranium Essential Oil, its fragrance is quite different from the ornamental geraniums familiar in gardens.
When the aromatic foliage is steam distilled, it produces a complex oil, fresh and leafy with a pronounced rose-like floral heart and subtle herbaceous nuances.
